T'ai Chi has been practised for thousands of years by people who have experienced the benefits of this gentle and dynamic art. By performing flowing sequences of movements, students have learned to increase the flow of chi, or internal energy, around their bodies. This natural form of exercise is suitable for people of all ages, and incorporates breathing and gentle stretching exercises, alongside learning traditional tai chi forms and partner exercises. Modern lifestyle can be particularly stressful and many people have benefitted from the relaxing feeling that comes from regular practice of t'ai chi. By joining a local club they have been able to practice with fellow students on a regular basis, and to make progress together. They also are able to attend regular weekend courses as well as week long residential courses where they can immerse themselves in the many aspects of this Art. The Taoist Cultural Arts Association teaches Lee style t'ai chi as taught by Professor Chee Soo. All aspects of the Art are taught including t'ai chi dance and form, sticky hands, dao yin (breathing exercises) and k'ai men (yoga exercises).
